Let’s thank Weed Warriors for challenging stigma and injustice, suffering ostracism and arrest. Let’s continue to advocate for this cancer-fighting, relaxing, uplifting, pain-relieving, thought-provoking herb until we are free to live with it and enjoy all its benefits without limit. Thanks to the farmers for developing myriad strains, perfecting growing methods. Thanks to dealers who keep the herb available throughout prohibition and legalization. Thanks to scientists, doctors, and patients who provide a mountain of proof that it is a valuable, nontoxic medicine. Let’s use hemp to its full potential for fuel, polymers, building materials, cloth, paper, food, and medicine and flourish in health and economy. Cannabis will save the world if we do it right! Leave no buds behind and no stoner unturned. Freedom, like democracy, only works if we participate and make it so.

About the Author

Signe Knutson is inspired by life’s mysterious beauty. She has written and illustrated children’s books, poetry, articles and a cookbook. A Master Herbalist, she has supported the use of cannabis medicinally and has vocally supported complete cannabis freedom since the 1990’s. She continues to rally for fair access, justice and amnesty even since “legalization” (October 17th, 2018 in Canada) and throughout an attempted corporate monopolization of the sacred herb. She has run for office twice with the Green Party, with Cannabis deregulation on her platform. She is a painter with PsychoActivist Studios. Her current project is Bio-Illuminati, a study of bioluminescent creatures such as fish and mushrooms. She is also a musician known as Steam Pony. Signe has four incredible kids, a cute grandbaby, a loving partner and a grey cat. She lives in Vancouver, BC, Canada, unceded territory of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh and Squamish First Nations.
