I know each of you will have your own story to tell one day. It doesn’t have to be about a goose. Just make sure you always fill your story with love and kindness, because that makes the best story ever! Luce the Goose taught us so many lessons, the first being that it is OK to get help from people. Even though he was a goose, he found a way to communicate and we found a way to understand. We all need help occasionally and when someone wants to help us it is a sign of their love for us. We should also remember to be that person who helps someone in need.

About the Book
Luce the Goose is based on a true story. This beautiful white wild Pilgrim goose showed up at our house one day. In fact, Luce didn’t just show up; it appeared he was infatuated with his own reflection in my black Jeep. For days, every time I looked out the window, he was back—just staring at his own reflection. The question that took us some time to answer was, Did he just like looking at himself or did he think his reflection was another goose that could be his friend? The photographs in this book help capture some of the most memorable moments of Luce’s quest for love. As amazing as this true story is, the real amazement is the lesson that Luce teaches us all!
About the Author
Kay Bolin was elected the 2018 Loveland, Ohio, Valentine Lady and part of her responsibility was to visit community schools (Pre-K through 3rd grade classes). Kay decided that would be a great time to share the true story of Luce the Goose and the lessons learned from Luce with the classes (approximately 1200 children plus their teachers). The story and lesson mesmerized the students and their teachers. The response is what inspired Kay to write this children’s book.
