As the son of military parents, DeShawn learns at a tender age that strength comes through forgiveness and holding fast to the values and morals taught to him by his family. In Family and Friends, DeShawn teaches through example the true meaning of friendship, forgiveness, and love.

About the Author

Dr. Beverly Boone is an award-winning educator, author, and speaker. Her work focuses on sharing positive and inspiring messages. “Family and Friends” is one of a collection of Christian short stories included in her soon to be released book, Let the Children Speak. Recognized as a South Carolina Educational Television (ETV) “American Graduate Champion” for her commitment of time, skills and resources to make sure that young people succeed, Dr. Boone continues to work with communities and is available for workshops and speaking engagement. Dr. Boone received her doctorate degree from North Carolina State University in Educational Administration and Policy Analysis. She is also the founder of StoryTelling Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating and sharing original stories that impact social change.
