About the Author

Karen Njeri King was born in New York City and raised in Brooklyn. She spent many years working in the educational field servicing children, parents, teachers, and administrators. Njeri is a founding member of the Sojourner Truth Adolescent Rites Society (STARS) and co-author of the book, Transformation: A Rites of Passage Manual for African American Girls.
