About the Book

Humans were created as social beings to connect to and live in relationship with others as well as with the God who created them. When either of these connections and relationships are broken for whatever reason, sadness and despair can follow. In a compilation of compelling, heartbreaking, and uplifting stories and dramatic plays, Jenafeca H. Smith depicts the lives of diverse characters whose relationships have been severed by abuse. Because of their faith in God, these individuals somehow learn to survive and thrive, trust again, and attain a second chance at love and life, despite their hardships. Through their challenges and victories, the characters teach others that obstacles can be transcended with help from God who heals our wounds. About the Author

Jenafeca Smith is a publisher, author of The Legacy of Love and Love: Talk About It, Sing About It, Learn About It, and an educator. She has written many plays and acted them out at high schools, colleges, churches, and community centers. Jenafeca has received various honors for her work. She has received two merit awards from the International Society of Poets, recognition from the Tiffany Gospel Awards, and recognition as one of the twenty most outstanding women featured in the New York Profile Magazine. She uses her literary works to give glory to God, to encourage others, and to draw attention to the life experiences of vulnerable members of society including the homeless and abused.
