About the Book

Her third book of poetry, Floating Free, comprises a lifetime of thoughts and impressions. How wonderful to be the conduit, the testament, the recall of it all! The biggest hurdle in writing poetry is recognizing the nuances, the signs, and symptoms when the mind takes a leap from what it sees or hears to what it can fashion from the depths or reflection and the heights of imagination charging her with a mission.

About the Author

Marie-Louise Meyers is an author of two books of poetry, “Whisperings Along the Octoraro” in which she was asked to write about the local where she lives in Southeastern Pennsylvania near the Octoraro Watershed for the benefit of the Oxford Public Library. Her second book is centered around the victims of Human Trafficking, “Who Speaks for Them” which illuminates their plight, and asks us all to play a role in breaking the chains that bind them. Equipped with a BA from Rutgers with a Secondary Teaching Certificate as well as a Masters in Counseling, a recipient of awards in both the Pennsylvania Poetry Society as well as the National Poetry Society (NFSPS), she admits the books would not have been possible without the groundwork she received from her parents, the stimulation of her brother, Dr. Robert R. Carkhuff, one of the foremost Social Scientists of the Century, her exceptional children: David C., Peter W., and Susan Meyers; and her grandchildren, Elena, Benjamin, Addie, and Hildy all participating in some special way in the formation of her book.
