About the Book

1976, Patrick, a dad of three children, John, Peter, and Annie, vanishes one day and never comes back. His wife and children will have to cope with his disappearance. Yet, some day, when an old house is being sold, a secret comes out, tongues are loosened, and the children get to know why their father went away. Life and years fly by as we get to know the family, and share their small and bigger worries. The wife wants to forget, if not forgive; the sister builds a new life far away. But the children decide they have to know where their father is. Will they succeed in their quest? This story tells us how they will live their lives despite him. Or maybe because of him?

About the Author

Annick D. Arnaud is a former teacher in a primary school. She is French, living in a rural area in France. Now retired, she enjoys writing when she is not playing the granny, walking her dog, or having days in the countryside with her sister Cathy and her horses, mule, and donkey, who are mostly old and retired as well, though Annick and Cathy ride them from time to time. Annick also loves traveling and has been to the United States several times, especially in Indiana, where she has friends. She is also a member of a group of writers that started with a MOOC given by the University of Iowa in 2015.
