About the Book

This is a story about Brinkley Bear and his animal friends, who are all unique in their own special way. Brinkley starts to worry about looking different from his classmates, but thanks to his dad’s wise words of wisdom he eventually learns that we should not judge others by the way they look. This story teaches us the importance of what is in our head and our heart.

About the Author

Simon Dean grew up in Caerphilly, South Wales where his love for sport, especially rugby, tennis and football originated. After studying Sports Science at University and then travelling in Canada for a short period, he returned to the UK where he started his working life as a PE teacher. Having lived near Woking in Surrey for almost 30 years, and worked in schools in London and Surrey, Simon and his family moved to Oswestry in Shropshire. He continues to work in education as a consultant, supporting schools all over the UK. Simon enjoys writing children’s stories and remembers reading them to his children when they were younger.
