About the Book

Hootie Owl is a heartwarming story about an old man and his next-door neighbor boy and an old owl. The old man lives by himself, and his animals are his family, but one day, he finds the owl injured by pellets and goes to confront his neighbor about his son. What transpires brings two families together to heal an injured owl. The story is about having morals and respect for animals as well as others. It also shows that you can’t judge a book by its cover. By the end of the story, the boy learns a lot about the old man.

About the Author

Dimple Borja, from Pass Christian, Mississippi, grew up on a farm the youngest from a family of six. Divorced and the proud mother of two boys who are the inspiration for my books. When they were young I always made up stories for them and they loved it. I always wanted to write books but never had the confidence but my family especially my brother believed in me so finally I decided to follow my dream and HOOTIE OWL was written. I have always had a heart of gold and I help people whenever I can, I am the type of person that doesn’t mind helping people but I have a hard time accepting help from someone. I love my animals I have six dogs who are like extended children. I enjoy reading, doing crafts, and going to the river.
