I like soup. You can move the potatoes to the side and pick out the alphabet letter noodles. Sometimes I like to spell words. Last year I liked to spell out my favorite places to go, park and beach. There aren’t a lot of options because “Grandma’s house” would take at least two cans. “The boardwalk at the Jersey Shore”...I don’t even know how many cans that would take. I’m not that hungry. Also, I like to spell what I like to do, dance and sing. Oh, I forgot to tell you my name, I’m Judy. Hi! That spring my Mom started making her own special chicken soup. She said it would make me feel better when I don’t feel well. It didn’t have letters in it, but it’s my favorite. I started feeling worse. I was absent from school a lot. Mom could have had an army making her chicken soup constantly…but no amount of soup was going to help.

About the Book
Judy likes soup, and loves to dance and sing. She started feeling sick but all the chicken soup in the world couldn’t make her feel better. With the support of family and friends she remembers that she’s strong and hears the clickity-clack of her tap shoes dancing “The Warrior Dance.”
Warriors Eat Alphabet Soup promotes empathy, reduces fear of sickness, aids parents during a difficult time, and celebrates the joy of spending time with family and friends.

Author Biography
Meredith Villano is a children’s theater playwright and director. She was a production coordinator and promotions manager of several Emmy-nominated television series, and digital media executive. Meredith is a nonprofit founder, activist, and entrepreneur with a focus on helping families when they become sick and injured. This is her first children’s book.
Illustrator Biography
Nataly Vits is a graduate of the Art Academy in Moscow, Russia. After exploring various fields of art, she has found the greatest satisfaction in illustrating children’s books.
