Face to Face with Shiva - scientific perspective of a spiritual experience: A real life account of being face to face with Lord Shiva: the highest among all known beings. An event that took place in 1970, is given in as-is form. It was among rarest of the rare experiences. Ever since then, the continuous dialog with Lord Shiva has been unfolding, and has provided revelation to the mysteries of life and defining its very purpose. In the dilemma of being a scientist who must find a scientific explanation to every phenomenon, I had refrained from publicly sharing this unique experience. Over forty five years of an ongoing dialog with Lord Shiva has yielded a scientific hypothesis to this rare happening, and time has now come to share this experience for larger benefit of humanity. In this brief presentation, the hypothesis and experience are shared alike. Bridging the gap between science and spirituality, physical and metaphysical, un-manifested and visible existence, abstract and defined, Lord Shiva answers the most unanswered questions like: Is there God? If so, who is that? Who made God? What is the purpose of Life? Who are we? What can one do as an individual to make a difference in this world? Why do tragedies happen? Why do living beings have desires? How do we participate in the universal divine plan? What happens after death? Are we the only living beings and is there life elsewhere in this inter-galactic universe? Are we being observed? Am I empowered to change the universe? What is the end-all of existence? What is our responsibility in this life? How is the universe managed? Who controls the universe? What lies beyond edge of the universe? About the Author

Born and brought up in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India, Abhinav migrated to the USA in 1999. He holds a BS part one (sciences) from Jammu University, BS engineering in electronics from Panjab University (PEC Chandigarh), M.Tech in systems and management from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, and a PhD in IT effectiveness, also from IIT Delhi. He has been working in various fields of technology for over thirty-six years across various geographies of the globe. He has been issued patents for environment-friendly power generation by tapping solar energy and atmospheric cold. He has published forty-five research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings, has been invited as a plenary speaker to several international events, and is a globally recognized thought leader in creating technology solutions to solve complex problems. He is the author of September 11: A Wake Up Call—Scientific Analysis of the Problem and Suggested Solutions. The book received the IEEE Author of the Year Award. He is the founder of Society for Universal Oneness (www.sfuo.org, a nonprofit organization), focused on creating a better world through environmental and education projects. His forthcoming book One World: One Nation—An Interdependent Business Model will focus on uniting a divided world. This book, Face to Face with Shiva: Scientific Perspective of a Spiritual Experience, explains his real-life experience of sighting Lord Shiva and how that experience and ongoing dialogue with the lord is so very important to save our planet. An interdisciplinary scientist and researcher, he wants to create technology-based solutions to solve problems related to environment, differences between nations, terrorism, and to eliminate ignorance, poverty, and hunger. As a human being, Abhinav firmly believes that, eventually, a revelation of truly knowing our connection to Lord Shiva through this book currently in your hands is the way by which all of us will get united, rising above our differences, and would work in collaboration to solve our problems. Abhinav has launched a crusade to clean up the abode of Lord Shiva, the holy Mount Kailash in Tibet (www.cleankailash.org) and also wants to establish a hospital and an institute for integrated health and healing by nature (www.iiihh.org) at North Carolina, with one of the satellite campuses at Kailash. Abhinav believes in moving from wholeness to universal oneness. The wholeness integrates mind, body, and the spirit. The oneness connects you with the divine and all creation—the universe.
