There in the partially covered snowy alley the boy’s horrid scream shocked Step from that vengeful state of mind. He stood there at the can with the up-side-down, screaming boy and shook the cobwebs out of his head. Then with the swiftness Step grabbed the boy’s legs and plucked him out of the can. He dumped the screaming lad on the ground. Everyone moved over to the boy and gaped as even the humidity failed to quench the blaze in his greasy hair. Now Step was attempting desperately to smother the fire in his hair. But the boy jumped up and took off running wildly and blindly. Then a brick wall finally knocked him brutally back to the ground. Step was now standing over the delirious fist-swinging boy. Then a dirty blanket was handed to Step by the older man. And suddenly Dassah’ eyes moved to the opposite side of the alleyway where she had heard footsteps. And from there re-entered the other Latino boy. He was just in time to witness his screaming partner in crime. “Som’ body put out dis fir’ on my co-sin!” he demanded in broken English. Step was doing his best. Finally the flames were quenched and burning flesh stanched the cold atmosphere. As the scene unfolded LD gawked down on the now calmer burnt boy on the ground. Even LD had forgotten that himself had been shot in the leg. He pulled up his pant leg and checked the wound. “It’s just a graze on my shin but it stings like the bullet went in!” he said The younger homeless man was in a corner shaking face as white as the snow-flurries around it. It was then that the doctor of the mind knew for sure he had a deep mental issue. “But what sort?” she wondered.

This novel portrays a fictional story about homelessness in America. This homeless epidemic may have resulted from post-war syndrome, substance abuse, post incarceration stress, or other unforeseen mishaps. In this novel the Christian psychiatrist places God at the helm of her goals for the homeless citizens of America. Also the scriptures in this book will provoke readers to search out God’s plan for every man on earth to follow. This book is fiction but its plans and hopes of eliminating homelessness, and various other mental illnesses have great possibilities. It tells of numerous methods for the willing person to be re-mainstreamed back into society. This is not just another feed the homeless effort, but rather, this story has devised a fool-proof plan to help the poor to feed themselves by working and or becoming business owners. The exciting story takes place in New York. Doctor Hadassah Desoto (Dassah) her fearless bodyguard Stephanas Carter (Step) and some homeless men she tries to recruit, falls into one danger after another. The unpredictable events will grab readers and hold them speechless. The characters will surprise readers as readers try to figure out what happens next. The story tells one adventure after another for readers who like to solve a puzzle. This story will make readers angry and then turn around the next minute and make them smile. There is no consenting sex nor profanity, so that the family can read and enjoy what they all can do to help.
About the Author
Sara M. Harris-Bowditch is a member of the church of Christ. She is a published children’s book and novel writer. Sara Harris was married to David Bowditch on May of 2012. She has one daughter and one grandson and is a native of Georgia. She attended college in Georgia, later to attend Saint Joseph School of Histology. She became a registered histology tech, ASCP-HT, with the American Society for Clinical Pathologists. She earned a certification in business plan development from Kennesaw State University Business Enterprise. She is presently retired due to an inherited eye disease that rendered her permanently legally blind though not totally blind. After retirement, she began writing where she discovered her real love of trying to solve the world’s many pitfalls. Her books are of a fictional self-improvement genre. She enjoys floral design and interior decorating. Her long-term goal is to continue to lean on God’s Word so that God will welcome her into a forever habitation with Hum.
