About the Book

This book is the seventh in a series written by Jake Bussolini. Because of the positive response received from his previous books, Jake took the advice of many of his readers and extracted the many interesting and sometimes controversial subjects from his past books, did a great deal of updating on his research and packaged the new material into this book. Many of the subjects in this book are truly controversial for many experienced anglers who have been using the same angling techniques and fishing myths for most of their life. The author has examined each of these myths, performing detailed tests where needed to prove that scientifically, the myths are no longer valid and may never have been. The title of this book, “Fishing Different” implies that the book contains discussions of different and unique ways to approach the sport that will make the angling experience more interesting and of course, more successful for all anglers of all ages. To make the reading experience more interesting the author has used history and historical events to support his theories and processes. This is a unique way to increase the reading enjoyment of this book.

About the Author

Jake Bussolini had a successful career in engineering which eventually led to a top executive position with a major Aerospace company. His education and career technical positions solidified his background in the sciences which he applies to all of his outdoor writings. His books uniquely combine the science of fishing with the sport, providing a different and interesting view of many of the long standing myths associated with the sport. Jake has personally fished in more than one hundred different lakes and rivers doing research for his books about freshwater fishing. More recently he has expanded his range of subjects to include some salt water fishing activities which he calls “cross-over” fishing, using freshwater equipment and theory for catching salt water species. Jake conducts a regular monthly lecture series at Gander Mountain in Mooresville NC. and is also a freelance staff writer for ODU magazine. His books are down to earth and east to read for anglers of all ages. Jake’s most recent book outside the subject of fishing titled “The Last Chapter” won a silver national award from the Nonfiction Authors Association for quality writing and content.
