We live in a world where love means different things to different people. To some it means giving or receiving of gifts while to others, it means the satisfaction of lustful desires. To a few, it means appreciating people and things for whom and what they are and seeing them through the eyes of God. Love is seeing God in people and desiring them for the purpose of God. True love needs to be explained in the present generation and needs to be taught, especially to youths, since what they see around may be far from the true meaning of love. God is love. Love is of God the Father and from Him alone, does this love flow, and everything He does flows from His love. By His very nature He is love. His love us in unconditional, it is the love that does not need a reason to love. The author of love, who is Love Himself, is the only one who can teach us to love by His Spirit, thus the title of the book, ‘Teach Me Love’. Teach me to love divinely, which is the true way. A lot of youths want to be like others - do it like others are doing, so that they can belong and be accepted by their peers. Some look down on themselves because they have been told by the people around them that they are not good enough. This is why they go out to look for affirmation or approval from the wrong people. Others develop a low sense of esteem and can be withdrawn or develop bad habits and become social misfits. This means that they do not love themselves. God however wants us to love Him and love our neighbours as ourselves. We can teach them to first of all have love for self, to love who they are from inside out. We need to look in the mirror to find the best creation of God, and then find love in the eyes of the person returning the stare. We can teach them to radiate love, and to show up as a loving presence. If we do not love ourselves, we cannot love others around us. Love for self enables you to speak from a place of love, kindness and compassion. Teach me Love to become the perfect person who is an embodiment of love. You can teach them with love to make them want to become a better person. Children in growing up to be youths need to be surrounded by love from their parents and all the people around them. A strong supportive and empowering parental base builds confidence in our children. This is the number one way of teaching them love. What we invest into their lives has a direct bearing into what they become as adults. As they experience love, they will grow up to love themselves, and in return love others. They will grow up to be loving parents, adults and showing love to all others they come in contact with in their daily interactions. In teaching them, we can be very generous while giving inspiration, because it is one of the most powerful and effective tools. This will help them to grow and then they can become the inspiration. The future of our youths, our leaders of tomorrow depends on their upbringing. So let’s lay a solid foundation for them. Our youths need to be taught that the essence of life is in the giving and receiving of love. Just like friendship, if you want to receive love, be willing to give it. Without this understanding of love, one is lost. We all need love. This is a collective responsibility in encouraging them to be the light in someone else’s darkness. They can be the blessing that will make another become what God intended for him or her to be. This is their heritage. At the end of it all, our youths are the litmus test of who we their parents really are. As we teach, support and help our youths to use their God given gifts, we are indeed cooperating with God. When we fail in this responsibility, we become an obstacle to God’s plans. This kind of love is not self seeking, it always seeks to protect, and it seeks the interests of another. This kind of love desires to protect the gifting from God by teaching, nurturing and supporting them to blossom. This book ‘Teach Me Love’ is a practical write up on all aspects of love: Loving God which leads to loving ourselves, our neighbours and our enemies. It also leads to the giving and receiving of love and this book is so practical that it should be a permanent companion and not a book to be read and put away. Every home ought to have a copy. About the Book
The highest form of love is the love of God the Father for man and man in turn loving God. It is a covenant love of a Father for the humans He created, and the humans returning this love to God. Love is all about seeing God the Father in people, and desiring them for the purpose of God. There is need to explain what true love means in the present generation and more importantly, it needs to be taught. What our youths see around them today may be far from the true meaning of love. We learn the facts of life, we learn to swim, we learn to drive, so teach me love. Teach Me Love is intended to share and spread the gospel of love. There is an urgent need to remind ourselves of the need to share the self-sacrificing love. We need to take practical steps towards love, practical steps towards making a difference in each other’s life. Let’s teach each other Love. Mercy Gogo Iwo Brown Mannasseh has a burning desire to enlighten our youths and impact on their lives. She’s on a mission to touch lives positively and help them live their best life. She has for long struggled with the question of what to do with her gifts of inspiration and motivation. Then PlayHouse was conceived. PlayHouse is a non-governmental organization whose main objective revolves around the youths. Every youth is given by Nature innate or in-born potentials that are seemingly dormant or buried in them. These potentials most often require to be activated by the right environment. It is, therefore, expedient that the right and suitable environment is given to bring out the best abilities from these youths. If a youth in the growing up years is not appropriately taught, instructed or directed, even the best potentials in that youth may be killed and never actualized. Working from the premise that every youth is significant, and every youth is unique, she organized a pool of Para Soccer teams in Rivers State. Under her leadership, the team has won many national competitions. The Rivers State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development formally inaugurated Para Soccer Association Rivers State Chapter which is affiliated to the Para Soccer Federation of Nigeria, in recognition of her unrelenting efforts at promoting not only the sportsmanship in these youth but also being passionately committed to their well-being. This has afforded her the privilege of a seat on the Nigeria’s National Sports Commission Board as member representing the South-South Region. No one being loved is poor. Love is never decreased when it’s being shared. One act of love can ignite many more acts of love. She has been made more powerful, imaginative and stronger by acts of love, as love is wealth in its own right. Doing acts of love is the safest and surest investment that returns infinite recompense of reward. It is the best asset much more precious than any material wealth. She has been loved deeply which has given her strength. She has loved deeply and this has given her courage to share the message of Teach Me Love.
