About the Book
The book is a philosophical and didactic discourse on thirty-six Igbo proverbs that center on the chicken. The chicken is used as a point of departure to illustrate the travails, vicissitudes, and triumphs people experience in life. The selected proverbs cut across many issues and teach morals that convey desirable ethical and moral standards in society.
About the Author
The author, Prof. F. O. C. Nwonwu holds a BSc from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a PhD from Iowa State University in the United States. He has more than thirty years of postdoctoral teaching and research experience and has authored or coauthored seven other books. He is currently the chief executive officer of Research and Development Consulting in Pretoria, South Africa.
