About the Book

It has been said, “What a difference a day makes.” On Friday, October 19, 2012, after her sleep was abruptly interrupted by a leg cramp, Pamula Yerby-Hammack had no idea that her life as she knew it was about to be changed forever. In the darkness of that fall morning, while collapsing onto her bedroom floor it never entered her mind that she was also plunging headfirst into a world of darkness and sadness. Flying with One Wing: God’s Grace in Our Times of Adversity is her story of struggling with mental illness. It is her story of confusion, panic, fear, sadness, and a test of her faith. It is also a story of finding out the truth, discovering the power of love and family, and the grace of God that never leaves His child alone. The book was birthed in a mental facility while she struggled with the knowledge that she had a mental illness and her story has proved to be a blessing in disguise that teaches that as long as God is the wind beneath you can always fly, even if you have to do it with one wing.
