About the Book

A brother sharing his story about his big sister, by playing a game with the reader. So see if you can figure out what makes Ja'avontae's sister special. The book is in titled "There is Something Special about Ja'avontae's Sister" This book feature my daughter L'Liyah and my son Ja'avontae, whom take the readers and play a game to see if they can find what is special about L'Liyah. The pictures give you clues and hint on why my daughter is special. But, in writing this book I wanted to show how being different exceptionally being a deaf child, showing that it is okay to be different. And how children with special needs are not different then other peers in their age group.

About the Author

Shawntae Taylor lives in Kansas and has two special needs children. Currently she is working in the school district as a para educator and is also pursuing a degree as an interpreter in an American Sign Language. She has worked with special needs adults and children for more than 18 years. Her passion is to see lives changed through the power of God and her desire to promote education and communication skills and techniques particularly with the deaf and heard of hearing individuals. She has written a book entitled The Little Leprechaun which was placed in the Cincinnati Public Library.
