About the Author

Omphemetse, an Accountant by training, is a gifted Botswana musician with a diverse artistic talent. The diversity of her talent ranges from singing, composition, arrangement and conductorship.

She started singing during her early school days and participated in the following choirs: Palapye Primary School Choir, Lotsane Senior Secondary School Choir, University of Botswana (UB) Choir, Kgalemang Tumediso Motsete (K.T.M) Choir and the U.C.C.S.A Broadhurst Choir. Her conductorship/directorship can be traced well from her membership with the U.C.C.S.A Broadhurst Choir, where she has been the conductor since 2001, and the Angelic Voices gospel group, the group she founded in 2004. Her creativity in composing is the major source of the vibrant and traditionally rich repertoire that the U.C.C.S.A Broadhurst Choir possesses. Her compositions were on several times, used as the Botswana National Productivity Week theme songs. She was also the first conductor of the U.C.C.S.A Synodical Mass Choir.

Omphemetse spearheaded the production of two music albums for the U.C.C.S.A Broadhurst Choir, one music album for the Angelic Voices entitled “Voice of an Angel Volume 1” and her own solo album entitled “Ebenezer”. She also facilitated in a number of music workshops for choristers and conductors. Her artistic edge was attained mainly through participation and application.

Omphemetse lives with her husband and two sons.
