As I grew, my training expanded. The next step was the "squat, squeeze and squirt" technique. Mom had the leg muscles of a kangaroo, with the strength and flexibility of an industrial spring loaded device. This technique encompassed being able to straddle the toilet, crunch down, (as close to the seat as possible without touching), squeeze then squirt. It was very important to hover as close to the seat as the law of gravity would allow, thus reducing the splash of water from inside the bowl. Touching was never an option since you never knew what kind of critters lived, even thrived, on that seat.

About the Author
Amy Goodridge-Bakst earned degrees from the University of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky University and an AJP diploma from the Gemological Institute of America. She’s had an extensive career in retail ranging from sales to management. Goodridge-Bakst lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband Jeff and two cats.
