About the Book

ARIZONA Is Where I Live” is a masterful and learning display of the Sonoran Desert, the mountains, the lakes, the Grand Canyon and of the animals that make Arizona one of the most unique and interesting states in the Union. The illustrations bring out the beauty of Arizona as displayed by the artistic drawing of pictures and the delicate coloring of pastel colors by Arizona illustrator and artist, Ms. Cindy Work. This Children’s book is fun and educational for the youngest readers with a slight touch of poetry that will amuse the older kids such as Mom, Dad, Grandpa and Grandma when reading aloud to their precious brood.

I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing “ARIZONA Is Where I Live.”

About the Illustrator, Cindy Work

As a young girl, I loved all the colors in my box of crayons. Paper, paints, glue, scissors, string, pipe cleaners kept me entertained for hours. Through the years, art and creating things has always been a constant in my life. A vacation to Arizona with my future husband Jim in 1979 was the beginning of our journey westward. In 1991 we moved from Pennsylvania to Arizona with our 6 year old son Dalton. Today, I share my love of creating with our 6 year old grandson Andrew. Rediscovering play dough, marshmallow and toothpick creations, painting, paper, scissors, glue, cardboard box projects and crayons. I recently created a paint by numbers mural that volunteers could complete on a campus for special needs children. An inspiring project that allowed myself and others to create and give joy simultaneously. Living in Arizona we are able to be outdoors, hiking, fishing, boating and camping among the varied landscapes it has to offer. Exploring Arizona's diverse outdoors with family and friends continues to inspire my appetite for art and creativity.
