The nursing home's sole business is that of providing needed care to the adult and aged members of human society, in a live-in environment, on the basis of 24 hours every day. These residents, due to the level of their dependence on others, primarily the CNA, need to be cared for with deep concern, attention, and compassion, at every time and with every of their needs. It is only logical that any system/style of management designed to provide care for nursing home residents neatly synchronizes with their `state of being'. A good beginning point would be, ensuring that management thinking, in nursing homes, as translated into policies encapsulates this `state of being', and this will result in the necessary CNA-friendly style of care delivery management---one this chapter has labored to articulate so far, and one that will put the nursing home well on its way to the desired end state.

About the Author
Edwin A. Ngeri was born and raised in Nigeria, but he relocated to the United States in 2001. He earned a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria and an MBA from the University of Phoenix, United States. He has completed over 60 percent of the coursework for a PhD in organization and management at Capella University, United States. He aspires to be a management thinker and consultant. He previously worked as a high school economics teacher and a commercial banker, and he is also a certified nursing assistant in the state of Minnesota (where he currently lives).
