About the Book

Consider the Stars will not only be a delight to read, it will be a valued experience to be shared over and over again. Whether you make reading the seasonal stories a tradition or use its lessons to supplement your Bible study, church service or simply entertain your youth group, Consider the Stars will be an active tool in your library. In addition to the sketches and correlating lesson plans that make up the majority of the book, a short study of acting is included at the end of the book with its focus bent toward the Christian actor by understanding that everything a person chooses to do or not to do is based on a belief system. Why is drama important in presenting moral principles? It’s often difficult to repeat what was preached even a moment ago, much less apply it, yet we can all recall a song or story that we heard even decades ago. Likewise, whether you believe he is who he says he is or not, Jesus is remembered mainly because he didn’t tell us which way to go…he showed us through the stories he told and the life he lived.

About the Author

John Lindsay, originally from Lincoln Park, Michigan, is blessed and highly favored (as he serves the Lord). He received a Bachelor of Music Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He spent over 20 years in the entertainment industry as a singer, dancer, actor, and has performed with Pat Boone, Mel Tillis, Phyllis Diller, and JoAnne Whorley. John wrote his first musical in 1988 entitled The Center Ring which was produced in Toledo, OH in response to a dare. His second musical, Rumors, was designed for church youth groups. John began writing Act of God in 2001 which he produced in Branson, MO in 2005. The sketches contained in Consider the Stars are sixteen of the best sketches produced at Detroit World Outreach and in theaters in Branson, MO from 2004-2011. Mr. Lindsay continues to post timely insightful articles from the Christian perspective on his BLOG at http://considerthestars.com. John is grateful to have been called to the writing and drama ministry. “I’ve heard countless people say, ‘I love being an entertainer’, but, to me performing could never be more than an infatuation I could never fully commit to because of its temporary nature," says Lindsay. "Writing, on the other hand, has been an aptitude worth investing in because its fruit is timeless. The stories contained in the Consider the Stars collection will be enriching souls long after I’m gone, and that’s what is truly encouraging." John continues to write faith-based songs, stories and screenplays from his home in Livonia, MI. He currently sings Tenor with the Gospel Trio OneAchord. John and his lovely wife Laura keep their eyes focused on their Lord Jesus Christ as active members at Destiny Worship Center and currently reside in Livonia, MI.
