About the Book

The handbook is about the theoretical foundations, researches in forensic psychology, practices and applications in forensic settings. This handbook is divided into three parts first part of the book addresses the theoretical foundations of forensic psychology, comprising behavioural biometrics, forensic assessment, criminal behavior and overview of psychopathy. The second part of the book attempts to cover neuroscience techniques for the forensic examination of suspects, and the third part of the book addresses the issues related to forensic practices and their application.


About the Author

About the Editors Y.K. Nagle, received his PhD in 1991 from Devi Ahilya University, Indore, and was formerly Senior Psychologist, for the Army and Naval Services Selection Board, Bangalore and Bhopal, India. Currently, he is a Rehabilitation Psychologist, Scientist ‘E’ in the Personality Division at the Defence Institute of Psychological Research, DRDO, Delhi, India. He is also a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences and acts as a reviewer for the British Journal of Psychology and Industrial Psychiatry Journal. He has published over 39 articles and book chapters, mainly in the areas of personnel selection, counseling and psychotherapy; and personality assessment. Dr Nagle has made significant contributions to the literature on personality assessment, personnel selection and the development of personality tests. His research focuses on personnel selection for the Armed Forces and civil organizations, personality assessment, counseling and psychotherapy. Kalpana Srivastava, PhD, is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, Scientist ‘F’ in the Department of Psychiatry, at the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India. She has published over 68 articles and book chapters, mostly in the areas of clinical psychology, counseling, and personality assessment. She is the Editor of the Industrial Psychiatry Journal and has contributed extensively to the literature on clinical psychology. Dr Srivastava has developed an assessment tool for Life Events in Armed Forces, and has also edited the Textbook of Undergraduate Psychiatry and Handbook of Counselling in HIV-AIDS. Arunima Gupta, MA, is a Senior Psychologist, Scientist ‘F’ and Head of the Personality Division, at the Defence Institute of Psychological Research, DRDO, Delhi, India. She has published over 23 articles and book chapters, mainly in the areas of personnel selection and personality assessment. She edited the book ‘Guide for Psychologist’ Technical Officers, and co-edited the book ‘Life Sciences Perspectives’. She has also contributed significantly to the area of personnel selection for the Armed Forces and Civil Services and developed various personality tests.
