About the Book

Most of us have been to a pet store looking at the kittens and puppies up for adoption. We've watched whole litters of puppies and kittens at play. These tiny balls of fur and fluff briefly stop their antics to stare at us, as we stare lovingly at them. Deep down we wish we could take them all home with us. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to adopt a whole litter of kittens at once? Have you ever wondered what they were thinking? Most of us have a pet cat or dog, maybe two. These pets become a part of our family; we love them, nurture them, put up with them, and cry for them. This book tells the story of our adventures as we adopt a litter of four kittens right from our front porch. The story is told from both my point of view and that of Patches, one of our four kittens. There is a different dynamic raising a whole litter in the house. It's like having a family within a family! These little bundles of high spirited joy lifted our hearts in ways we did not expect, right when we needed it most. Truly little miracles!

About the Author

Alex grew up on Long Island, NY with a menagerie of pets at different times, including cats, a mongoose, and a raccoon. Growing up in a family of animal lovers led Alex to have a strong compassion and love for all animals. Today, he lives in Flower Mound, TX with his wife Monica, and their two children, Katrina and Nicholas, and seven cats. When Alex isn’t caring for the cats he enjoys family outings and camping with his son's Boy Scout troop. Alex has an entrepreneurial spirit and has tried several startup businesses. He’s the designer and publisher of an iPhone app called POTUS, Commander-in-Chief. A role-playing game. Patches was born and raised in Flower Mound, TX. He has two brothers and one sister. Having a short, but exciting feral life, Patches has acquiesced to the gentle country living those large suburban, planned communities in North Texas offer. After being adopted by his new family, Patches and his brothers and sister live a normal indoor feline existence focused on maximizing the entertainment value provided by their new family and of course by gravity. Patches loves to explore, stalk, and pounce on any family member who’s an unwitting assistant. Sometimes, he becomes the hunted, but this is rare. He likes the sun, a warm bed, and someone to sit on.
