Be Courteous and Attentive

Gossip Girls know that First-Impressions Count! Good manners and polite, courteous behavior will help make a good first impression. Most of the time your attitude will show in everything you do. In fact, displaying a lack of manners can greatly ruin the one chance you have at making that first impression. So be your best, even when you may not be feeling 100% at your best.

It’s good to remember people’s birthdays, weddings and job promotions by sending flowers, congratulation cards and birthday gifts. Keep notes on people and important days that are special for them. In High School, fashion and appearance is an issue for many teenage girls. If you are stressing about what you should look like as an incoming freshmen or graduating senior, here's a quick guide to help you look more popular. Read the following pages to discover your fashion, from 9th through 12th grade.

“Fabulous” Freshmen (9th Grade)

9th-Grader’s should wear transparent (see through) glitter lip gloss, some mascara, and maybe a little bit of transparent eye shadow with a slight hint of glitter. Avoid going too heavy or it may look bad. If you want to try out more types of makeup, keep that for home experiments. Hairstyles should be simple, yet fashionable, like stylish ponytails.

As for clothes, keep them at a modest, fashionable level. Overall choose clothes that will make you feel comfort since you already have enough to deal with being a Freshman in high school. If you are wearing a bra or undershirt, don't let the straps hang out. It doesn't look cool, only sloppy. If you are wearing a short shirt, check in the mirror to see if your stomach hangs out of the bottom. Otherwise, wear something a little bit longer. This also applies to your skirts and shorts as well.

Remember to use simple accessories like jewelry and handbags [purses]. The point is to keep your makeup light, and your clothes clean cut.
