About the Book

The Anthology is based not only about life, but topics and people in my past and present.

As you flip through the pages, you will read about my opinions on current events and past experiences. The topics are serious and funny. They range from politics to erectile dysfunction to dementia.

I have also written columns about my experience as a doctor, and I have taken potshots on suburban life and life in the inner city.

What I hope readers will experience is a joy ride through my reality and its madness.

About the Author

I am a retired internist. Two unfortunate accidents, one year apart, left me permanently disabled.  I have several medical conditions, one of which is severe neurosensory hearing loss with severe tinnitus. The condition causes severe sleep deprivation. I try not to dwell on ailments and depressing situations, but I’m not always successful.

Because of my medical symptoms, I retired at 55.  Due to all the years of education and medical practice, my mind will not rest. I write as therapy and I write for enjoyment.

I would like to express my gratitude to my neuropsychologist, Dr. Grant Strine, my editor, Darlene Dunn, and the Delco Times for allowing me to be a guest columnist.  I thank you all for your help and guidance. For the doctors who tried to help me, I appreciate you. To my Mother, I give all the glory.  She has stuck by me through all the Hell that I have lived.  My sister has also been there too.  I love you both.

Over the last year, I’ve written about many topics. It is affectionately and lovingly referred to as the writings by the Mad Doc. I hope my writings will bring

comfort. I also hope they will make you laugh and even make you cry. Most of all, I hope it gives you a clear understanding of the importance of living a meaningful life full of loving relationships.

There are many things I hope will change about the world. Just because you ask questions, people should not consider you a smart aleck. Those who do not treat others well will reap what they sow. To my professional colleagues, I wish you would have more compassion and listen more closely to your patients. There would be less malpractice.

I miss my life as an internist.  My patients were my children. There is not a moment that passes that I don''t wish I were back serving you.

To the readers of the Mad Doc, I hope you understand my views on life.
