About the Book

Parenting smarter - and safer - in this new millennium will require that everyone who cares for and about children understand the risks facing today’s families and know what to do about them.  This book responds to the most significant worries of parents today --- children’s vulnerability to terrorism, school violence, and abduction, kidnapping and exploitation. This book will help parents to be proactive and effective in safeguarding their children.  As parents learn new strategies for keeping children safe, they will develop the strength and resolve necessary to safeguard their families.  By managing some threats and treating others, parents can diminish the risks faced by their children and empower their kids to do the same.  It is not more difficult to become a parent in this post-Columbine era, but it is, certainly, far more challenging to BE one!
