About the Book

Walter and Eunice were on vacation visiting their daughter in South Carolina. One phone call on a quiet Sunday morning changed it all. Tragedy far away back home in Brooklyn, New York. It was their youngest son, George. He was killed in a car accident; leaving their hearts broken. They struggle as they rush home to bury their youngest child. A silent long plane ride for Walter and Eunice as they held on to hope that it might be a mistake; they immediately lean on God and each other. Having the support of their church, neighbors, other family and friends, they manage to get through this as they search for answers. After returning home they are forced to face reality. They immediately take their pain and turn it into a positive. They establish a scholarship fund in their son's name. They move forward working diligently to keep George's memory alive. Their faith in God has got them through it. The smile upon George's face leaves them with hope and comfort. They find peace through the gift of giving to other children in memory of their beloved George.


About the Author

Yma Orné Campbell is a new aspiring author stepping ground on the scene after self-publishing four inspirational books. Yma is a native of Brooklyn, New York. She has been writing for the past 27 years. She credits her love of writing to the stimulation she received as a 9th grader in her English class in Catherine McAuley High School (Brooklyn, NY). Over the years her writing has developed into its own masterpiece, one that she is very proud of today. She has written stories, and poems, many of which she has shared with others. Yma received the Editor’s Choice Award from the International Library of Poetry in 2007. Yma submitted a poem that received recognition and was published in Howard Ely’s Anthology titled, “Forever Spoken.” Her love for poetry is evident in her very own collection of poems in her published book, “Literature for the Heart.” Yma enjoys writing to help others. She wrote and published, “Tragedy and Loss: A Family Struggles to Move On.” She wrote this book as it was therapy for her while she was grieving the loss of her younger brother who she loss in a tragic car accident in 2006. Yma has shared her story with many that have experienced a loss and was credited by her fans to have helped those that she touched through her writing. She also went on to publish a story about family, sudden change, and acceptance in the dramatic story of “The Grandparents Club.” It is a story that has received many great reviews by her fans that she has been asked many times about writing a sequel to continue the story by taking the drama to the next level. Finally Yma has self-published a children’s book, “Manners, and Morals in Minutes for Children.” This adorable children’s book is a short story about friendship and diversity. It is one that she enjoyed creating and has promised to add more children’s books to her collection. Yma received a Bachelor’s Degree from Charter Oak State College in New Britain, Connecticut and she is currently pursuing a Masters Degree at this time. Yma is very passionate about helping others and making a difference impacting the lives of children and families, one day at a time. Yma also serves as the Development Manager of the George K. Campbell Scholarship Foundation where she also displays her passion for fundraising for Catholic Education. Yma enjoys writing and poetry so much that she has promised to showcase more of her talent in the future.
