About the Book

What kind of America do YOU want?  One that is dangerously fragmented into conflicts over race, religion, economics, society and politics.   One in which the freedoms that we enjoy, that were indelibly imprinted into our Constitution, are threatened by an all consuming government, and by those who would loosely refashion that Constitution to fit their beliefs, thus threatening not only our freedoms, but our personal rights and property as well.

This novel, “Saving Our Constitution”, is fictional, but turns a conflict into a search for a method of bringing America back to the country we once knew; culminating in a Constitutional Convention that outlines the authority of our three branches of government as the founders clearly intended in the original document, limiting what has  become an all-consuming Federal government, returning States rights, and restoring to “We the People” the power to govern ourselves and return this country to one America with liberty and justice for all.

About the Author

I have not only written and editorialized about the activities of government at all levels, but have also participated politically in parts of that government.

In my 87 years, I have worked in radio and newspapers for practically all my mature years. In both areas I covered news, wrote columns, editorialized on events both local and national.

Politically I have served two different terms on a City Council beset with dire financial problems. I have also served as a County Commissioner with all those attendant problems.

In addition, I have served a number of years as Chairman of the Oregon Conununity Corrections Board, as well as a time on the Oregon Welfare Commission.

At present I am, along with my family, the owners of a four radio station array, and deliver an editorial twice weekly called “The View From Here.”

I also have published several local historical novels, as well as a novel called “The Holy Satan versus the Unholy King” which brings life to the Middle Ages conflict between Emperor Henry the Fourth of Germany and the Monk Hildebrand who later became Pope Gregory. It deals with the effort to separate the Catholic Church from the control of the Emperor, thus the beginning of separation of church from state.

I have long been a student of history, possess an extensive library, and also am currently working on another novel entitled “The Ramblings of an American Dinosaur.”
