About the Book

The devil thought he had me, but I am out of his hands. Psalm 8:2 states, “Out of the mouths of babies and nursing infants, you have ordained strength, because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger.” I sincerely and prayerfully wrote this book with the hope that it may be an inspiration and encouragement to others who are struggling to overcome their addiction problems and that through my testimony, they will become the victor without a lot of grief.

About the Author

Preacher Billy Lee’s background is an “on hands” educational experience that began during his childhood. He graduated from the “University of Hard Knocks”, becoming a high school dropout and receiving a degree in “abuse and deception”. He then entered the armed forces of the United States Marine Corp and is a Vietnam Veteran. He received the Nation’s Defense Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and three Purple Heart Medals and received an Honorable Discharge in 1970. With determination, he received his certificate of High School equivalency at Texas Southern University of Houston in 1974, also completing two semesters of higher learning as well. Later, he received an Associate of Arts Degree from Alvin Community College in 1983 and 14 credit hours of study from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. He also has a background in theological studies from the Southwest Episcopal Seminary. After being released from prison on December 5, 1990, he announced his call into the ministry on March 28, 1993. He received a Certificate of Ordination, November 18, 1994. His current membership is with St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where he serves as Pastoral Care Minister and serves as an evangelist in the prisons, nursing homes and in the street ministry. He continues to visit Travis County jails, sharing the Word of God.
