Kayleigh is in charge of all the safety equipment for their adventure. She is also very responsible about protecting her skin from the sun. During their journey they come across garbage in the water and on the beach. They pick up the litter and make sure it gets recycled. She talks about the dangers of the garbage for the environment and the wild life.

About the Author
My husband and I have been kayaking for years over on the North Shore of Long Island. We collect all of the litter we find and recycle it. As I paddled across the bay, I thought of how this would be a great story and educational at the same time. I write, paint and illustrate in my free time. I am an active member of the SCBWI, Huntington Arts Council, and Northport Arts Coalition. My first book was, No More Cancer for Me! It’s a children’s book about my nephew’s journey of surviving leukemia. I have also illustrated 4 other books for friends.
