About the Author

Bryan Smith retired from Fresno Unified School District in 1997, after a career of 32 years as an Elementary Teacher.  He enrolled at Fresno State University to study geology, one of his life-time interests.  He had moved into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada before retiring, and put his interest in geology to work, in one of his classes, to write a history of his community from a geological point of view.  Later he used the term paper for one of his classes as the foundation for this brief work.  He still lives in the community of Yosemite Lakes Park, with his wife Florence.
