About the Book

Sammy Steinberg’s music had the power to arouse erotic and romantic feelings in women.  But he was secretly in love with Evelyn, the beautiful wife of a close friend.  When the friend was sent overseas to fight in WW II, he appointed Sammy to protect Evelyn and look after her needs in his absence.  Sammy was torn by the conflict between his deep love for Evelyn and his fierce loyalty to his friend.

The Virtuoso is the story of Sammy’s dedication to the piano; it also tells the story of the women he loved along the way.

About the Author

Dr. Miron’s star has shone in many areas.  He has been variously described as a “Renaissance Man,” and “Jack of All Trades.”  A retired clinical psychologist doing research and treatment of severe behavior disorders, he was a dedicated pioneer in behavior modification programs, and published numerous papers in psychological journals.  His popular book, Winning the Games People Play: How to Master the Art of Changing People’s Behavior, has been praised by professional psychologists and laymen alike.

As a young man he studied mathematics,  physics and chemistry, and later earned a Master of Music Degree.  Dr. Miron has been a licensed pilot, rock climber, and amateur astronomer.  He ground and polished his first telescope at the age of 14. In addition to Dr. Miron’s work as a clinical psychologist, he has been a teacher, uranium hunter, stevedore, aerial photographer, construction worker, and door-to-door salesman.

His astronomical column (Star Spangled Banter) appears regularly in the Kenwood [CA] Press, and elsewhere.  (Http:\\www.Starspangledbanter.co).  Dr. Miron often plays Jack London’s Steinway grand piano for visitors to Jack London State Historic Park (CA).  (See also http:\\www.TheVirtuosonovel.com.)
