The Everyday Woman’s Guide to Entrepreneurship

I was scheduled to have coffee with an acquaintance when she messaged me the day before: "I have totally been in a funk and down on myself, so I'm not really game to talk business lately. Maybe when I decide what I want to do with myself we should get together." In a strategy session, a brilliant female entrepreneur--a woman with a master's degree in Integrative Marketing and thousands of social followers--told me that big-name brands in her field don't pay for blogging. "It just doesn't happen," she said. Every woman has incredible, revenue-generating potential, yet many of us measure ourselves on the wrong things. We compare. We overanalyze. It's easy for our brains to embrace a false sense of security when feeling uncertain or worried. As a result, we realize only a subset of benefits. We fail to tap into our most profound abilities. We forgo inconceivable levels of success. I wish I could share with every woman the greatest lesson I've learned through the years: there are no rules to life and no playbook to business. There's just you, and that's pretty damn powerful.
