About the Book
This page turner is the story of a young man from Communist Poland preparing his escape to the free world. It took him many years of struggling to prepare his plan. The unbelievable trip from Poland, passing through the Iron Curtain and risking his life to Paris, when he discovered, that escaping from Communist oppression doesn’t mean being welcomed by the free world. Surviving almost a year, hunted by French police and facing deportation back to Poland, he finally prevailed finding freedom in North America.
About the Author
Alfred Lenarciak was born in Poland in 1950. He escaped the Communist regime in 1974 and later immigrated to Canada from France. Degrees in engineering and finance were the platform that allowed him to invest and work all over the world over a span of thirty years. For the last decade, Alfred has been developing the ancestral estate of his wife in Southern Italy. At the age of sixty, he decided to retire and devote his time to publishing these stories based off his life experiences, which he has written over the last several years. He currently resides in Nassau, Bahamas, with his wife, Barbara. They have a son, Max, who lives in Toronto and works in an assets management firm. Road to Freedom is his third novel. Previously published are Bre-X: Dead Man’s Story and Revenge of Money.
