Zhan Mitrev was born in Štip, where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje and specialized in surgery in Zagreb and cardiovascular surgery in Germany. He worked as a cardiac surgeon in Frankfurt and Zurich and in 2000 opened the first private hospital in Macedonia. In 1997, in Frankfurt, he was the first Macedonian to carry out a heart transplant. Now, in the words of the author, he has performed surgery on the spiritual heart of Macedonia.
This is the context of this book as well, with eight stories about two great Macedonian figures, as his contribution to future generations.
