About the Artist

Pilar DeLis` is an artist of both the visual and written expression. She has worked in a multitude of mediums and as of recent Pilar DeLis` now expresses her artistic talent, as she gives us life transformed, through a component of photography that proves her creativity in converting the human body into abstract art (Photo Edited Art); introduced in "Beauty Beyond the Surface".

In addition to her visual artistic creativity, she has published poetry and continues to create other forms of written and visual art. Pilar DeLis` is always in creative expression mode be it conversation, visual and/or written. Her philosophy is, “The only way to live fully is to express continuously”.

Pilar DeLis’ holds a Bachelor of Science in Art from Lincoln University (Missouri) and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Pilar DeLis’ resides in Chicago, Illinois.

"Beyond the Surface is a phenomenal book written by a phenomenal woman. There is no greater display of artistic expression using natural beauty than that which is displayed in this book. Not only is Pilar a phenomenal woman she is artically capable of reaching the inner most facate of every humans ability to define natural beauty in such a respectable fashion. If you love to be challenged artistically I recommend that you add this book to your personal library. You will not be disappointed. I've personally seen the artwork in her home gallery and I must admit it caused a reaction of immediate discovery for me while trying to discern the meaning of each piece of art. I was impressed by Pilar's ability to challenge the eye and the mind with the usage of the most natural artistic piece of work known to man, the human body. Definitely a must read!!!! "

"Pilar DeLis'has used her artistic rights from begining to end in this book. She not only created the photo edited art and poetic verse; in the copyright page we are made aware that she also designed the entire layout and presentation. I think this project shows her versatility as an artist. In the past I have added her watercolor portraits and sculptures to my collection, however, this is a nice, almost suductive yet sophisticated, shift in her style. I expect work beyond this project will continue to hold the integrity she gives to whatever medium she is creating in. Great book to have! "
