Since time immemorial, I am trying to wake you up but you don’t.
Not complaining, for such is not my nature;
Mine is to wake you up.
Not frustrated for I cannot be
I just have to wake you up.
Melody in bird’s chirping,
Coolness in the summer breeze,
Burning heat in midday sun
Deafening monsoon thunder
I did it all just to wake you up.
Spark in the first kiss,
Comfort in mother’s embrace,
Sensual grains in chocolate mousse and
Rush and reward in market risk
I did it all, just to wake you up.
The desire to own, taste,
Destroy, love and hate,
I made it so you’d WANT to wake up.
Put the fear in you
So you’d keep on wanting all
And wake up.
I made life beautiful,
Hoping your love will wake you up.
Also made it miserable,
So you will hate enough and wake up.
Now I think it is time you woke up.
Argue not about genetics, Darwin,
evolution and creation.
I made them so.
Don’t ask me how and when,
All I know is why,
And that is to wake you up.
You say, you can’t
Or you don’t know how?
For millions of years, in thousands of ways
As gurus, gods, priests, friends and lovers,
I have been telling you how.
As Krishna,
I told you to see me, see you.
Not yours the ones you kill,
To rid the world of evil.
As Buddha, I told you to pay attention
Be mindful of suffering (good, great or bad).
As Shiva, the Tantric,
I asked you to find me
In all ecstasies,
From sex to breath of fresh air.
As Nisargdatta I told you,
You are That whom you look for.
Do ask me why I want to wake you up?
That is simple; you are asleep.
Do ask me, who am I?
That too is simple; I am you, asleep.
Who Am I?
Am I flesh and blood
That feels joy and sorrow?
The ambition
That propels me?
Am I the lover
Who pines for sincerity and reality?
Or the worker
Who needs recognition and rewards?
Am I the pilgrim
Who must get to Kailash?
Or am I the thought
That goes anywhere anytime, free?
Or, am I simply naught?
Rise Flower Children Rise
Look into her eyes, you see love
You felt ages ago
At speakeasy, at protest rallies
In the pubs, across the hallways, in the dorms.
Was anyone excluded from your love?
O dear flower children
Same feeling has come to haunt you
Now as your children.
Why fight it
Why put shackles on
The freedom you created?
The freedom to love; peace not war.
What will these infants learn?
If not what was most dear to you?
Just reflect what you hold in your heart
Look again in those baby blues and find yourself
Rise, flower children rise.
Rise as phoenix, rise as the mountain
Take your spot in destiny
And shape it again
In the name of love and peace.
O when is there a second chance
You have it now
She is there to do your bidding
He is there to follow your lead.
They didn’t understand you then
Many will not now
But this time you are strong
Child of the man whom anyone could crush
Is now the man himself.
Once again let the bugles sound
Not for war, but for peace
Not for one but for all.
Let go of the labels, love free, live free.

About the Book
Resonate with the author as he takes you on life journey which is full at times and empty at other, always seeking “happiness” that will last, a bliss that endures and a love that is unconditional. But as most seekers, he too reaches a dead-end. Then you realise what Shiva said in one of his soma rush laden moments, the dead end up here. We all have such moments but some have the inspiration and skills to put them down as poetry.

This book is a story disguised as poetry. First a journey of spiritual seeking, a popular reaction to those days with no hope, no love, no life satisfaction. On this journey he does find some divine, blissful love in the form of beautiful, compassionate and loving people. Oh, how fireworks ensue in climactic poetry, describing the heartache that simply is. Lessons learned from the other side of pleasure are priceless but bliss endures. As the book unfolds, we quickly realize there is no elegant conclusion to this poem-filled love story of divine intervention, just as there is none to life.

Born to a lady named Buddha, named so by her Sanskrit Professor father, it was inevitable that Poetry will find its way into the author's repertoire.He has written extensively in Scientific and Business and Finance journals but poetry?
It was a chance awakening into the subtler aspects of life through new age literature, satsang and meet-ups now sweeping the western world that this India born pilgrim found truth. Or what he thought was truth until he started to experience the wild and sometimes physical quivering that is more characteristic of withdrawal symptoms after quitting a strong poison. In this case the poison was the illusion and artificiality of life to embrace love and truth. Bliss can't escape such settings.
