Thomas began to kick at me. I know he could see my shadow through the pillow case, I told him to relax. Stop fighting me; it's going to be fine. I had to hurry and get him inside, because he kept screaming. Jimmy, please don't do this, “help someone!”, “Jimmy, please don't!” “Help me someone, help me!” Lifting him by his arms, I drug him through the yard up three steps, across the splintered porch inside the old two room house. I quickly closed the door looking at all the camera monitors that I installed earlier in the week. I had to use batteries instead of generators. I could see the cars pass by the driveway entrance, and I watched the children play in the yard across the street. No one had heard anything.

There's my exit, that didn't take too long. Eager to get showered, I unpacked and prepared to settle in my bed for the night. Well, I can relax now; I got a glass of wine, retired out by the pool and listened to the sounds of the night, singing the songs of another day gone by. Like a bolt of lightning striking me, the memory of a little boy hiding under the table in the storage room at church, muffling his cries, holding back his tears, as he took the paper towels and wiped away the blood. It began to flood over in my mind.

James D. Bulger (Jimmy) is the author of BETRAYAL OF THE INNOCENT. Jimmy was born January 23, 1965 in
An entrepreneur at six, he sells anything from vegetables out of the family garden to owning a trailer park at sixteen. He has fallen on the long journey of life, but stood up, reaching again for his dreams, and never giving into defeat.
He learned the value of unconditional love, and the definition of, “actions speak louder than words.” The statement, “ I love you”, wasn’t said in this home, it didn’t have to be. The actions of unconditional love was more powerful than words. He always knew it.
Standing beside him or behind him, when ever this author needed his family, they were there. He might not have seen them or heard them, but he could always feel them. This was not at all a Traditional family, unique in many definitions. That’s what makes him the man he is today; unique, a maker of his own cloth and destination, able to climb, conquer and surpass.
He battled his differences and shortcomings to achieve his dreams. He lives his life as a magnet, gathering wisdom, understanding and compassion; Forgiving the evils of the world, praying for forgiveness, reaching for the stars of his imagination, and building bridges out of the scars life has inflicted upon him.
It is his wish that this book will inspire parents, children, and counselors abroad to communicate, reaching out to one another for support through life’s unpleasant paths. This is a fictional book only, written to reveal the development of a life from the dark side of child abuse.
