This thrilling story takes you on a deadly chase for riches, in the form of gold bullion, through the streets of Hong Kong, Beijing, Memphis, and New York.

Three Memphis cotton merchants, in partnership with Hong Kong and Beijing operatives and the cooperation of a corrupt Chinese government official, execute a plan to drive down the price of cotton at a time when it ordinarily would be rising had the market known the true facts about poor crop conditions in China. Financial ruin comes to those on the other side of their trades and death to some who put the plan into action.

It’s a story of treachery, deceit, violence, and ruination driven by greed, power, and the ruthlessness of a beautiful and seductive Chinese woman.

The plan is exposed when a determined New York hedge fund manager, a Memphis private detective, and two dedicated police officials in Hong Kong and Beijing unravel the conspiracy by following a trail of death leading to the gold and the temptress who set things in motion.
