BEN AND KEN
BOUNCE AND SPRING.
It was a beautiful spring day in Happyshire, the sun
was shining and the Clouds were as big and fluffy
as giant marshmallows.
Ben and Ken the odd job men, were working at farmer Peter Larkin's farm park, repairing a chimney that had been damaged by the gale the day before.
'It made a real racket when it came tumbling down in the night.' Farmer Larkin told them, 'Put the hens off their laying, had no eggs for the wife's breakfast. But I told her, Martha, I know just the men to call, Ben and Ken the odd job men. Do you think you'll be able to fix it before we open the farm park to visitors next week, there's an awful lot of bricks to put back?'
'Don't worry Peter we'll fix it in plenty of time.' Ben told him.
'That's the last piece of scaffolding in place Ben,' Ken called down from the roof, 'now to bring up the bricks.'
'Trampoline?' said Ben.
'Much quicker and easier than ladders.' said Ken.
'And a lot more fun too!' Ben added with a chuckle.
They fetched the trampoline from the back of the van and stacked the bricks at the side of it, climbed the ladder to the top, and were ready to start.
'Ready?' Said Ben. 'Ready!' Said Ken.
Ben jumped off the scaffold. 'Wheeeee!' down he went.
As he hit the trampoline at the bottom, it sagged in the middle, and reaching out quickly he picked up two bricks, before springing back up where he placed the bricks neatly on the scaffold ready for use.
As Ben was on his way back up, Ken jumped off, and passed him on the way down.
'Wheeeee!' down he went. Again the trampoline sagged in the middle, and as it did, Ken reached out and quickly picked up two bricks, before springing back up to the top, and stacking them neatly on the scaffold, exactly as Ben had done.
'Wheeeee!' Boing! - 'I love odd jobs like this.' said Ken.
'Wheeeee! Boing! - So do

'Ben and Ken the odd job men'
Synopsis
Ben and Ken the odd job men are the heroes of Happyshire.
And just like it says in the song:
'No matter how big, no matter how small, Ben and Ken can do
it all!'
They can perform any task, from Astronauts to Zookeepers and do so in their own amusing and inimitable style.
They often get emergency calls from various people such as
Mrs. Sanoojee the Mayor and are usually the ones who save the day.
Ben and Ken are the best of friends.
They are both married; Ben to Penny a policewoman and Ken to Jenny a paramedic who rides a quick response motorbike.
They both have two children. Ben and Penny's children are called:
Ashley (6) and Amy (5).
Ken and Jenny's children are called:
Tessa (6) and Tom (5).
Ben's family have a dog called Mr. Barker, a black West Highland terrier and Ken's family have a cat called Astrophe, a fluffy white Persian. Both animals have very distinctive personalities and usually accompany Ben and Ken on their adventures.

John lives in London with his wife and three children.
This is the first in the series of the Ben and Ken stories. There will be seven books in all with four stories in each book. The second will be published in Spring 2009.
