God created both male and female at the same time in this scripture, as Adam was created first and then Eve created from the rib of Adam in the second creation! God told these women and men to be fruitful and multiply the earth. Adam and Eve were never told to be fruitful and multiply. The first creation was told to be fruitful and multiply, and the second creation was to dress and keep the Garden of Eden. While Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, the first creation was outside the Garden being fruitful and multiplying the earth. This is how Cain was able to go out and receive unto himself, a wife. When Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden, they were kicked outside of the Garden, where the first creation was already busy doing what God commanded them to do.
