About the Book

This book of poems is a collection of my experience of love, pain, and redemption. Many of the poems are brief and were written short with the intent of simplifying complicated idea’s. My Sweet and Blissful Memories of Pain is my personal journey through life.

My poems are about the many feelings that we all experience , the let downs, the struggles, the anxiety, the sacrifices. However it is also about our ability to overcome the many challenges in our lives. Through my poetic expression I paint a portrait of peace and tranquility that I find within my deepest thoughts.

But essentially this book is about relationships, relationship between myself and my lovers, family, friends, strangers, God , and everyone else that I encounter in my life.

About the Author

Rudy Theophin picked up the interest of writing after his ninth grade  english professor (Dr. Denight) introduce him to the world of literature. Rudy was fascinated by writers like Lord Byron and Langston Huge however he was especially found of William Blake because he felt that many of his poems related to him.

In his Senior year he became very intrigue about religion and did independent research on world  religion and Babylonian civilizations. After graduating high school, he decided to pursue a career in business, and enroll in Brown Mackie College as a Business Management student.

“ William Blakes works was viewed as heresy in his times many of his poems were not only extremely political but very offensive. It was not till his death that people begin to really appreciate his contribution to literature. It’s a pity that he did not receive any true recognition until after his death.”    -Rudy Theophin
