Through Our Eyes is book written by kids, and for kids and for the grown-ups who care about them. A diverse group of early adolescents from Oakland, California talks openly with high school students, Iffer Beisswenger and Margaret Eldred about the topics that are on their minds. The book provides a window into hearts and minds of early adolescents and serves as a great converation starter for kids from 9-13, and for the adults in their lives. Through Our Eyes offers the varied and diverse perspectives of the 29 students (ages 10-12) in Mrs. Reeses Class at the Henry J. Kaiser, Jr. School. They provide an insightful "kids' eye view" of the world that encourages communication between kids and between kids and the adults who are important in their lives. While many adolescents are afraid to talk about the things that are of greatest concern to them, these students open discuss a wide variety of subjects that are on most kids' minds.
