About the Book

Living in an era where humanism and nihilism seem to define every aspect of human endeavor including religion and spirituality, Moreno has undertaken the difficult task of explaining the great Christian concept of God in a unique, but orthodox, way to those individuals who find difficulties with the traditional concepts of God.

The Theognosis deals with a vision of the divine which is both empyreal and personal.  Moreno makes use of both symbol and allegory to define God’s nature; His very being.

To Moreno, God is known to man through nature (creation) which includes the very nature of man himself, and through inspiration.  It is in inspiration where the Theognosis has found fruition.  Not the inspiration by heavenly hosts, but the inspiration of simple contemplation upon the Great Christian concept of God.

About the Author

Robert Moreno III, born in the tumultuous 1960s, in the border town of Nogales, Arizona, considers himself a poet with mystic proclivities.  He has made Judeo-Christian mysticism, which is rich in history, a life-long study.  He has had various poems published in national poetry anthologies and has self-published various books on poetry and spiritual subjects.

He considers the writing of the Theognosis as his most important work to date.  To him, God is very real and personal presence; the creator and sustainer of life, and to ignore this and our relation to Him is, as Moreno says, “one of our gravest errors.”  It is his hope that the Theognosis will bring a little light into darkened souls, and seeds of faith where there is much doubt.
