About the Author

Elsie Block was born in 1913 in Chicago of immigrant parents from Denmark.  Her father’s business in art glass caused them to move to several large cities, eventually settling them in Detroit.  She graduated from Cass Technical High School and attended Wayne State University.  While at Wayne State she became a partner in a Christian radio broadcast that eventually went worldwide.  After marrying in 1942, Elsie became interested in the party plan offered by Stanley Home Products.  She eventually became the initiator of the party plan system for Tupperware at the request of Earl Tupper.  Before losing their business, Peter and Elsie Block’s distributorship covered over half of California and they trained many who went on to head Tupperware, Inc.
