Once upon a time in a far, far
away land, in the heat of a summer night, there was a black Doberman puppy
born, named Prince Warrior.
He was the first of the litter of
puppies, followed by two brothers and two sisters. Now this first born was someday to be called
King Warrior, but for now his parents would call him Prince Warrior.
Prince Warrior was very tiny at
first. His coat was black all over, with
rusty brown spots on his chest, ears, and paws.
Prince Warrior’s father’s name was King Sampson and his mother’s name
was Queen Delilah. King Sampson was one
of the biggest and most feared Dobermans in the kingdom. He was very muscular and weighed about one
hundred pounds. He was also was very
meek and a very noble Doberman. Queen
Delilah was a very small doberman and she was very
quiet and extremely shy. She weighed
about sixty pounds.
As King Sampson gazed proudly
upon his newborn children, he quickly noticed that his first born son, Prince
Warrior had enormous paws. With much
enthusiasm and pride, he smiled to know that his first born son had inherited
his own big feet. King Sampson knew
that this was a quality that would make Prince Warrior a fine Doberman King
someday.
As King Sampson gazed upon his
other children, he decided that his second son would be called Prince Bruno
because he was the biggest in the litter, and he was always tormenting his
brothers and sisters. His third son he
named Prince Max. Prince Max was a very
mischievous puppy. He was always getting
himself into some sort of trouble. King
Sampson named his daughters Princess Sheba and Princess Zion. They were both very tiny and extremely shy
like Queen Delilah. King Sampson was
pleased with the names he had chosen for his children, and Queen Delilah just
sat there smiling as each of her newborn lay sleeping soundly against her.
Prince Warrior may have been the
smallest of the litter, but he grew very quickly. His tiny body grew a little, and then his
paws grew a lot. He grew and grew and
grew.
Prince Warrior was a very loving
and joyful puppy; as well as a clumsy puppy.
He loved playing with his brothers and sisters every day. Prince Warrior ran with them, chased them,
and eventually tumbled over the top of them because his paws always seemed to
get in his way.
Prince Warrior enjoyed his
evening walks with his father, King Sampson.
Prince Bruno and Prince Max were always able to tag along. They all went prancing down the road with
their heads held high. And they always
played follow-the-leader, with King Sampson in the lead.
