This dictionary is a unique Bosnian-English dictionary. It is one-of-a-kind. The author's ultimate desire is to contribute to the knowledge of the Bosnian language and to support both the academics and the linguists working in the translation field who want a resource they can rely upon without question. Turcisms are defined as: "Words and phrases of Turkish origin" that have been incorporated into the Bosnian language as a direct result of two things: 1) 500 years of Turkish rule over the Balkan peninsula; 2) The Islamic religious presence in Bosnia.

About the Book
Many words were immediately incorporated into the simple, everyday Bosnian language from the Turkish language. Additionally, it must be noted that only some of these words were incorporated into the official, recognized and standard language. All of the words, however, are part of the Bosnian language as a whole.
