A flower or flowers is a special part of a plant. The flower is considered the reproductive organs of a flowering plant. A flower is also known as a bloom or blossom of a plant. Bloom refers to the flower at its full development, and blossom describes a flower that is in the early stages of developing into the full bloom. The flower is usually the most colorful part of most plants, and some plants form fruit. The flower(s) comes first, which requires pollination before the fruit can form, and inside most fruits are the seeds that create the next generation of plants. Only some flowers become fruits, a seed-bearing product that develops from the ovary of a flowering plant. Some flowers are edible, some are used as herbs, while others are made into medicine, and even some flowers are poisonous. A flower can grow separately on the plant or grow as a cluster of flowers arranged on a plant stem. Some species of plants need to be sown every year, and others come back on their own at the right season. The flowering plants can appear in the spring or fall season and then disappear for the remainder of the year. When the plant grows, the flower of the plant will eventually fade, wilt, and die.
