About the Book

Layer upon layer, we build our lives. Some of us are as big as the Rock of Gibraltar, while others are sand pebbles on a beach.

One layer at a time; one experience at a time. This defines who we are. Peel back those layers like an onion, and you will expose the true heart of a man, the core of the human psyche.

Admire a rose’s beauty. It has infinite layers of delicate spiraling designs. Each petal is unique, like all of us. My poetry has many layers too—humor, love, wonder, sadness, elation. Like rings on a tree or a single snowflake, not one of us is the same. We make the earth spin. We are all poetry in perpetual motion.

Without the poet, what a dull gray world this would be. The following is from my opening poem, Layers:

“Freedom is a state of mind,
Let loose the doves to soar;
Breaking through, reborn again,
It’s just one layer more.”

About the Author

I have been writing poetry since I was twelve years old. Through my life’s experiences I’ve continued to write poetry, layer upon layer! I grew up in Wisconsin with two sisters, mom and dad. Mom was a poet, author, artist, musician and composer. Through her, I developed a love of poetry and dance. Sometimes I blend the two together, which makes for my “dance of words”. My writing is from “A to Z”, so to speak. Humor, love of nature, raw emotions, personal experiences and the ability to touch anyone who reads my poetry. I live in Melbourne, Florida with my husband, who is my “muse” at times! I will always write what is honest and true, which makes my poetry part of every man.
